Control Room

The studio is centred around a late-80’s Amek Tac Magnum 36 channel desk which I restored whilst building the studio to its former glory. This console has a very specific, dark sound and powerful EQs which I love particularly on drums.

I’m using the Neumann KH310 and Dynaudio BM5a’s for monitoring which I think as a pair complement each other perfectly.

Live Room

When designing this studio the main priority was always to create a big live room with the highest ceiling we could accommodate. This old Yorkshire dye-works building was perfect to realise my vision. The size gives us a lot of flexibility in the sounds which can be achieved with a good selection of moveable gobos to tailor the sound for big, roomy drums or a much more controlled, tight sound.

The Cramer baby grand is one of few left in the UK and really comes to life in a large live room
